MIRI: A total 150 people received cash and hampers from the Welfare Department during a ‘Sejambak Kasih Aidilfitri’ 2022 programme held in Bekenu on Wednesday.
Each recipient was given RM100 and hamper worth at RM80 from the department during the event held at Masjid Al-Mutaqqin.
Those who could not attend the programme would have RM100 credited to their respective back accounts.
Deputy Minister of Women, Family, Welfare, Community Well-being and Childhood Development Datuk Rosey Yunus said a total of 15,318 people or 30.03 per cent of the total number of recipients in Sarawak will receive the welfare aid in conjunction with the coming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration
“From January to March 2022, the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKMS) has disbursed RM61, 048,620.00 to 51,003 recipients in the form of monthly assistance throughout the State,” she said.
For Miri, its divisional Social Welfare Office has disbursed RM5, 262,350.00 which benefited 4,155 recipients for the month of March 2022.
