KAPIT: Baleh people welfare association (Persatuan Kebajikan Penduduk Baleh — PKPB) has acknowledged the important roles of the frontliners in the fight against Covid-19.
These frontliners are from various government departments and agencies such as the police, Rela, Kapit District Council (KDC), and the Health Department.
To show its appreciation the association has contributed RM1,000 for each frontline agency to help them purchase equipment and items such as face masks, hand sanitisers and gloves.
The cash was handed over recently by former walikota of Kapit District Council, Joseph Jinggut, on behalf of the association during a simple ceremony held in the lobby of KDC building.
On behalf of the local police, ASP Chiew Swoi Kee received the cash at the ceremony where KDC was represented by its secretary, Jabang Juntan.
The frontliners also received donated food and drinks from various local bodies such as SDNU Kapit, Saberkas Baleh, Kapit Chinese Chamber of Commerce and lawmakers, namely, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing and Bukit Goram assemblyman, Jefferson Jamit Unyat.
