DALAT: A total of 86 of the monthly welfare aid recipients in this district received receive RM100 cash and hamper worth RM80 each in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year celebration.
Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said the recipients represented 6.98 per cent of the total aid recipients in Dalat district, and Mukah Division (153 or 2.34 per cent).
She added the total cash expenditure for the statewide programme was RM610,600, while the total recipients was 6,106.
“Among the objective of the programme, is to lessen the burden of the Community Welfare Department client in preparing for the Chinese New Year celebration,” she said when officiating at the Sejambak Kasih (Bouquet of Love) programme in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year celebration at Dalat Welfare Complex here on Saturday (Jan 22).
Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman revealed that the Community Welfare Department had channelled a total of RM243,162,850 to 52,363 monthly aid recipients statewide from January to December last year.
