SIMANGGANG: A couple woke up from their sleep to find a python on their ceiling after their pet cat kept meowing this early morning.
Sri Aman Civil Defense Officer Captain Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said they received a report of the presence of an 18-foot python weighing around 25kg at 4.25am.
“That time, the couple was asleep. They woke up upon hearing their pet cat making noises. They were surprised that there was a python on the ceiling,” she said.
She said the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) team that arrived at the location near Kampung Muhibah, managed to capture the python.
The reptile is now placed in the Sri Aman district operations control centre (PKOD) while waiting to be handed over to the Wildlife Department.
