KUCHING: Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar encouraged all Muslims to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha moderately amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The minister stated that this year’s Hari Raya Aidiladha should be celebrated modestly while following to the government’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“This year, we would not be able to do ibadah korban (slaughter of sacrificial animal) due to Covid-19 which is why Muslims are encouraged to celebrate moderately.

“We must give the government our full cooperation and all parties have a role to play to jointly defeat the disease during this pandemic, particularly the Delta variant cases.”

The Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Minister also wished all Muslims in the state a happy Hari Raya Aidiladha.

“With that, the most important thing is to always pray to be in protection of Allah, not just ourselves but also our family and community.

“Once again, the public is reminded to always follow the SOPs in order to assist in the control of Covid-19 and to register for the vaccine to protect our community.”
