MIRI: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau has urged those celebrating Gawai to avoid overspending but spend their hard-earned money wisely.

“It should be the best time for a family reunion without having to go into all the excesses often associated with Gawai,” he said today.

He said because of the fear of further outbreak of the Covid-19, Dayaks are advised to celebrate only with immediate family members.

“Don’t think of throwing parties like in the past because we must all look after our health and safety,” he advised, adding everyone must comply with the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
