KUCHING: State-owned private hospital, Normah Medical Specialist Centre recently hosted its annual Open Day, marking 36 years of operational excellence, and featuring 45 booths with variety of activities at its premise yesterday (Aug 17).

The celebration underscores its top-tier patient care and acclaimed services, reaffirming its steadfast dedication to enhancing community wellness.

Officially launched by the chief operating officer Vesmawati Jaafar and head of Corporate Affairs and Business Development Alina Ibrahim, the event celebrated the hospital’s achievements throughout the years and took pride of its recent accolades.

“Over the past year, Normah Medical Specialist Centre became the only private hospital in Sarawak to receive the Malaysian Healthcare Icon Leadership Award from Asia Pacific Strategic Research at the National Health and Wellness Summit 2023 in Kuala Lumpur,” Vesmawati said.

Additionally, the hospital also achieved international recognition by winning the prestigious Hospital Service Excellence Award 2024 from Award Trends in Jakarta for its outstanding patient care.

“As Normah Medical Specialist Centre embraces the future with fresh enthusiasm, this event stood as a testament to their lasting commitment to health, care, and the community,” she added.

Meanwhile, the event also emphasised on health education, early disease prevention, wellness options, and supplements available to the communities.

“Visitors had access to a range of activities such as Zumba and complimentary health services, including free basic health screenings, free eye check, free dental screenings, and free diet consultations.

“Additionally, there will be a blood donation drive, children’s activities and games, food bazaars, flea markets, food trucks, and dialogues on rehabilitation therapy,” Vesmawati said adding that other departments like National Population & Family Development Board (LPPKN) and Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Bahagian Kuching are also opening its booths.
