KUCHING: Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) Commercial, a subsidiary CENTEXS will be the first cabin crew training centre in Sarawak for Batik Air.
With a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between CENTEXS Commercial and Batik Air signed, not only will CENTEXS be a training centre but will also create job opportunities for the graduates.
Aside from that, with the said MoU, CENTEXS Commercial will also be able to promote heritage and handicraft products through Batik Air.
In addition to that, CENTEXS also signed a MoU with Social Security Organisation (SOSCO) and Human Resource Development Corporation to foster cooperation in job placement for its graduates and also inked a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Bumikon Group to market and promote CENTEXS Commercial throughout Malaysia.
“Hopefully this cooperation continues to be sustained and strengthened for the benefit of all people and the country,” said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during his working visit to CENTEXS in Santubong here on Saturday.
He stated that to remain competitive, there is a need for the involvement of the private sector and government-linked companies (GLC) in the agenda to empower the implementation of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.
“The involvement of the industry in supporting and driving the implementation of TVET is not a new approach, this practice has been proven to be effective and practiced in many developed countries.
“I congratulate CENTEXS Commercial and the industry players involved in the signing of this collaboration,” he added.
