KUCHING: A delegation from the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) visited the premises of New Sarawak Tribune (NST) and Suara Sarawak (SS) at Metrocity Matang here yesterday (Feb 28).

The delegation was led by CENTEXS Lundu campus head Dr Nor Ashikin Abdul Rahman and was aimed to introduce the courses offered by the centre as well as their campus facilities.

Present to welcome the delegation were NST editor-in-chief Aden Nagrace and NST & SS digital division head Awang Rosli Awang Jaya.

During the meeting which lasted about one hour and 30 minutes, Nor Ashikin and other members of the delegation briefed the NST and SS staff on the programmes implemented by the centre for the community and the industry.

Among them were CENTEXS’ community technology outreach programme (CTOP) and industry technology outreach programme (ITOP).

During the session, a demonstration was also made on the application of virtual reality (VR) and Java-based Android app development by the CENTEXS delegation.

Other members of the CENTEXS delegation were the Lundu centre’s instructor Mirawati Sahib; CENTEXS Digital Academy senior instructor Lee Wah Soon and instructor Catherine Guma; the centre’s Corporate Strategy and Communication Department manager Lucy Saman and consultants Shahrain Jamaluddin and Raja Idham Raja Mohamad.

Also present were NST special editor Nazmi Suhaimi; SS digital division senior editor Feddy Bohari; NST & SS digital division assistant head Mohd Hanafi Abdullah and NST & SS senior executive Shahraini Sajali.
