ASAJAYA: The Tambirat hawker centre, expected to be completed next year, will change the socio-economic landscape in Asajaya.
Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Kota Samarahan candidate, Datuk Rubiah Wang said the hawker centre aimed to stimulate economic growth in the area.
“I am confident that soon after this centre is completed, there will be an increase in economic growth,” she said when met while greeting traders at the hawker site here yesterday.
According to Rubiah, the hawker center, which is almost completed, will provide a more conducive environment for traders to sell and visitors to buy.
She added that the current hawker site caused traffic jams, especially during the peak hours.
“The new centre, built on a land area of approximately 2.56 acres, can accommodate more than 500 visitors at a time.
” I am confident that the visitors will feel more comfortable and safer to stop by and buy some items,” she said.
Rubiah was confident that the new centre would become a new landmark in Asajaya.
“The site of this new centre is located on the bank of Tambirat and the Tambirat Waterfront will be built there later.
“I am confident that the special features of this centre can attract more visitors,” she added.
