KUCHING: In conjunction with the coming celebration of Chinese New Year, the Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCGCCI) is going to distribute ‘ang pao’ (red packets) and daily goods to ten charitable organisations here.
They are Salvation Army-Kuching Children’s Home, Salvation Army-Kuching Boys’ Home, Mental Health Association of Sarawak, Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng, Sarawak Society for Parents’ of Children with Special Needs, Pertubuhan PDK Suria, Sarawak Cheshire Home, Sarawak Society for the Blind, Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital and 13th mile Home for The Aged.
“The committee members of KCGCCI will visit the above-mentioned organisations from Jan 27 to 30 next year.
“Apart from giving ang pao and daily goods, we will also prepare lunch for the residents and working staff of the respective organisations as a gesture to express our love and care to those involved,” it said in a statement on Monday (Dec 28).
Most of the funds for this event were derived from the donations from members of KCGCCI.
There were also donations from the warm-hearted individuals and corporate bodies who have contributed towards the meaningful activity.
