DALAT: Medvill FT emerged champion in the Christmas Cup Futsal Competition 2018 which ended last Sunday night.
With the win, the team from Kampung Medong Dalat walked away with RM1,000, a challenge cup, trophy and medals.
The first runner-up in the competition held at Stadium Perpadun Dalat here was Ceplos of UiTM Mukah Campus which pocketed RM500, a trophy and medals while Badsmact of Kpg Medong the second runner-up took home RM300, a trophy and medals. In fourth place was Evonik FT of Kpg Tanam which won RM200, a trophy and medals.
Prizes for the winners were presented by Dalat District Futsal Club (DDFC) chairman, Daniel Francis Xavier Klumai and his deputy Mazlan Daud.
The three-day event which started from December 21 to 23 was organised by DDFC in collaboration with Mukah Parliament Youth Organisation (MPYO).
Daniel expressed his special gratitude to officials, referees, the participating teams and all those involved for making the event a success.
The competition attracted 32 teams from villages in the district to as far as Kpg Klid on the upper river of Batang Oya to Kpg Senau of Oya sub-district, including Sungai Kut.
“Thank you to those involved in making this tournament another successful one and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2019,” Daniel said.
