KUCHING: Bumiputera entrepreneurs are called upon to take part in the Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneur Awards (AUBS) 2022.
The sixth edition of the award will take place at Riverside Majestic Hotel on November 12, 2022.
It is organised by the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) in collaboration with the Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Entrepreneurs (DUBS) and Idris Ibrahim & Co Groups of Companies (IIG).
MINTRED Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the award is organised to recognise outstanding Bumiputera entrepreneurs who have contributed to the economic development of Sarawak.
“We want to encourage efforts to produce successful local entrepreneurs.
“The main objective of this award is also to recognise outstanding Bumiputera entrepreneurs through authentic, creative, innovative, committed entrepreneurial characteristics and contributing to economic growth.
“The award is also hosted to look for a Bumiputera entrepreneur who can be a role model for the local business community and also becomes a benchmark for other Bumiputera entrepreneurs,” he said.
Awang Tengah who is also a Deputy Premier said this during a press conference at Wisma Sumber Alam meeting hall here today.
There are several categories to bag such as Outstanding Bumiputera Entrepreneur Award, Successful Entrepreneur Award and Auspicious Entrepreneur Award.
Under the Successful Entrepreneur Award, winners of four sectors which involves development /real estate, manufacturing, agro /aqua /bio and services are eligible to receive a RM250,000 loan through Small and Medium Industry Loan Scheme (SPIKS).
Meanwhile, those who bag the Auspicious Entrepreneur Award will receive a grant totalling RM20,000 apart from trophies and certificates.
