KUCHING: The fourth edition Asean International Film Festival & Awards (Aiffa2019) is all ramped up in its preparations for one of its most iconic events here from April 25 to 27.
The biennial festival will showcase celebrities, film screening, business-to-business networking.
Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah revealed that Steven Seagal, a larger than life action film star will make his appearance as the special guest.
Aiffa director Livan Tajang said the three-day programme will be filled with various activities, including free screenings, at the Old Courthouse Auditorium for members of the public.
“Movie screenings of 29 shortlisted films will be held from April 25 to 28. This gives everyone ample opportunity to catch some of the competing films from 10 Asean countries,” she said.
She said Hollywood legend Seagal will appear not only on the gala night, but also throughout the festival, and will meet fans on April 27 at the Old courthouse from 10am onwards.
Besides talk sessions by professionals, local talents are invited to showcase their talent on the audition at the inaugural talent casting session which will be held by a Hong Kong-based international production team.
