MIRI: Over a mile of traffic congestion occurred when six vehicles including a lorry were involved in a chaotic pileup at Jalan Miri-Bypass here on Thursday night.
Despite the chaos caused by the six-vehicle pileup that occurred around 8.30pm last Thursday, there is no report on no loss of life or serious injury.
According to sources, at the time of the incident all vehicles were on the same route before colliding with each other.
“The accident is believed to have occurred when one of the cars was said to make a stop because it wanted to turn into a junction on the right side of the road.
“At that time a lorry and four cars that followed behind could not avoid hitting each other, thereby causing the collisions that became a pileup of six vehicles including the lorry,” said the source.
He said the pileup resulted in a number of vehicles being badly damaged in the front and back.
Meanwhile, a team of traffic policemen arrived at the scene soon after the chaotic pileup to conduct investigations and to control traffic.
