SIBU: Sibu Division Chinese Community Leaders Association (SDCCLA) visited three charity bodies and contributed monetary donation and ‘ang pows’ today (Jan 27).
Some of the recipients were also treated to a luncheon in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year festive season.
The group of visitors led by SDCCLA chairman Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming dropped by at Sibu Autistic Association (SAA) housed at Agape Centre in Jalan Alan and handed over a cheque of RM2,000 to the SAA president David Ngu Tai Giin.
Later, they went to the Methodist Children Home and presented ‘ang pows’ to 60 residents.
Thereafter, they proceeded to the Sibu Benevolent Society at Jalan Teng Chin Hua and threw a sumptuous lunch for 30 residents.
Lau also hoped other organisations and able individuals would also come forward to make generous contribution to create a caring society and to share the joy of the festive season.
