MUKAH: The inaugural Setia Raja Mosque Charity Ride 2019 here on Sunday received an encouraging response when 150 cyclists — including more than 40 from Brunei — took part in it.
Beside Mukah, cyclists from Kuching, Saratok, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri also joined the ride 50km-ride, which was organised by the Mukah Santai Bicycle Club.
Song Kin Fha, 74, from Brunei was the oldest cyclist while Mukah-born Muhd Khairul and Khairil Haiqal Mohd Azahari, both 12, were the youngest.
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi flagged-off the ride at 6.30am at the compound of the mosque. Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo and Mukah Division Resident Hamdiah Bakir also attended the event.
Organising chairman cum Mukah Santai Bicycle Club chairman ASP (Rtd) Jamil Othman thanked the cyclists for their participation.
He added that the Brunei cyclists also presented a donation to the mosque.
