KUCHING: Kuching FA coach, Shahrizan Sahari admitted that he has identified the key players who will playing for the FAM Cup 2018 campaign. The list was finalised during two friendly matches recently held at Johor Bahru which against Johor Darul Ta’azim II (JDT II) and JDT III.
“Basically, I’ve had a first eleven line-up of players after two friendly matches in Johor Bahru last weekend,” Shahrizan said when commenting on the matter. Shahrizan believed the group of players are able to bring cheer, especially in their first mission to gain points.
The Kuching FA squad now have 24 players with eight new faces led by two former Sarawak defenders, Izray Iffarul Roslan and Sahran Abdul Samad.
In addition, some former players from the President’s Cup squad as well as some young stars that have been identified during the Sarawak Cup 2017 campaign and participate in the recent selection sessions.
The players are Muhd Nur Aliff Kefli, Muhd Yazid Ahzhar, Muhd Nur Hidayat Zawawi, Samsu Alam Abdul Samad, Mohd Zainudin Bohri and Hafiezulhisyam Roslee. Last season’s players who still stay are, Mohd Saiful Kamel, Awang Mohd Tarmizi Awang Mahdini, Mohd Fareez Tukijo, Mohd Zulfika Mustafa, Mohd. Ariff Azizan Ederis, Remenor Pit, Rafiezan Razali, Yusman Mohamad, Ahmad Shakri Tuah, Raziman Razali, Mohd Shahfitri Abdul Salim, Mohd. Asrullah Drahman, Zulmizan Bujang, Ismail Bujang and Sufizal Ismail. Meanwhile, Shahrizan was delighted with the improvement in the performance of his men.
“They had undergone two months’ training, besides being involved wi th some f r iendly matches. “It looks like a significant change in understanding among players after a few friendly matches,” added Shahrizan, hoping that the time will be used to streamline the squad.
