KUCHING: A man who set upon his former employer after failing to draw him into a fight was fined RM2,000 in default six months’ jail for his crime.

Magistrate Zaiton Anuar handed Fuad, 32, the penalty after he pleaded guilty to causing injury by choking his former employer at a car wash centre in Bandar Baru Samariang on Sept 6.

According to the facts of the case, Fuad arrived at the car wash centre with a male acquaintance and a woman to challenge the victim to a fight.

Hid former employer however ignored him.

Enraged at being ignored, Fuad attacked and choked the victim while accusing him of stealing a ladder belonging to his friend, which was said to be kept in the centre.

The victim suffered a neck injury as a result and subsequently filed a police report out of worry for his safety, which led to Fuad’s arrest on Sept 14.

The case was prosecuted by Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang.
