KUCHING: Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen has remained coy about the outcome of negotiations between Opposition parties in the run-up to the upcoming 15th General Election.
He said it would only be revealed “when the time comes”, along with the distribution of seats among the parties.
“We don’t want to talk about politics today, we leave politics for another day,” he told the media after presenting incentives to 46 students who did well in their SPM today.
“What is important is the ceremony today where we present incentives to the students who achieved excellent results in their SPM.”
In Sarawak, the Opposition consists of DAP, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Amanah. DAP had held discussions with Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) as of late to explore cooperation for the polls.
Last April, Sarawak DAP deputy chairman Alice Lau revealed that she, Sarawak DAP treasurer Chiew Chiu Sing and Sarawak DAP secretary Alan Ling would discuss with PSB president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh on a possible partnership.
So far, both had yet to find an agreement .
