KUCHING: Happy Easter, all!

Today, Christians all over the world celebrate one of the holiest days, which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In Sarawak, many faithful have flocked to churches and chapels to attend Easter Sunday sunrise mass.

In the meantime, Sacred Heart Church, Kota Sentosa here, was packed with congregants who attended the English mass at 7.30am.

Nearly 900 mask-wearing worshippers were celebrating mass with joy, which was delivered by Congregation of the Disciples of the Lord (CDD) priest Father Paul Hu.

Later, when met, Father Hu said he was happy to see many Catholics going to church to celebrate the special day.

“Easter is the greatest and most important feast in the church. It marks the birthday of our eternal hope. Easter is also like ‘the feast of fresh flowers’.

“We celebrate this important day with pride and jubilation. Therefore, rejoice, brothers and sisters, for the Lord has risen, Alleluia,” he said.

Meanwhile, the highlight of the mass also saw the distribution of Easter eggs, which were prepared by the church, to each family, especially little children.
