MUKAH: Over 200 Christians from five local churches gathered at St. Peter and Paul Mukah Church to celebrate Malaysia Day with a special prayer service recently.

The united prayer service, which included representatives from BEM Church, Mukah Methodist, BEM ELIM, Mukah Anglican Centre, and Mukah Baptist Church, began at 8 pm under the guidance of Reverend Father Joseph Sebastian.

The primary purpose of the event was to offer prayers for the well-being, prosperity, and peace of Malaysia’s leaders and citizens, regardless of their race or religion.

The congregation also expressed their hope for integrity and justice among the nation’s leaders, with the goal of improving the country’s economy.

Beyond the spiritual aspect, the prayer service served as a platform to strengthen bonds among the participating churches.
