KUCHING: Some 246 police officers from Kuching district police headquarters attended a Joint Church Prayer Service to commemorate the 216th Police Day.

The service was held yesterday, at BEM Kuching Evangelical Church, Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, and organised by Kuching IPD.

The service was conducted in Bahasa Malaysia by Senior Pastor Wagner Lagin and Presiding Elder Fabian Ritish. Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah, Persatuan Keluarga Polis (PERKEP) Kuching chairperson Emmy Suin and Kuching deputy police chief Supt Merbin Lisa were also present at the event.

After the service, relief packages were given to nine members of the congregation.

Ahsmon also gave souvenirs to Wagner and Fabian as a token of appreciation for conducting the service for the police.
