BINTULU: St Thomas church here will be upgraded under the Rural Transformation Programmes (RTP), said Tanjung Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming.

He said that the church was now in old condition and needed to be upgraded.

“The church fence is dilapidated and needs to be repaired.

“The lack of parking spaces around the church due to the increase in the number of churchgoers also makes it difficult for the public, therefore the car parking area will be widened,” he said when visiting the RTP Project site here, recently.

He added the construction of the pedestrian walkway at the Methodist Church which is located next to St Thomas church would also be implemented.

Pang hoped that with help and cooperation from the Bintulu Development Board (BDA) this problem could be solved.
