MIRI: A Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team here yesterday retrieved parts of a dismantled lorry from bushes in Tukau area.
The lorry is believed to have belonged to the late George Tang Kee Luang, 60, a church pastor whose lower body was found floating in Sungai Niah on July 2.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said, “The lorry was retrieved to assist us in our investigation into the case.”
Two police trucks were used to transport the dismantled lorry. Two of the six suspects connected to Tang’s murder case led the CID team to the area yesterday afternoon.
On Saturday, a CID team went to a house in Kampung Lusut where they discovered several personal items belonging to Tang and a knife.
All seized exhibits were brought to Miri Central police station (CPS).
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
On Friday morning, senior investigation officer (SIO) ASP Joyce Sigai applied for a seven-day remand until Aug 23 for all the six suspects to assist police probe into the case.
Her remand application was granted.
