BINTULU: The marine police raided a house in Taman One Villa at Jalan Seview here Saturday morning, seizing contraband cigarettes and liquors worth RM84,500.

According to Sarawak marine police commander ACP Shamsol Kassim, some 100,000 sticks of cigarettes and nine boxes of liquor were confiscated during the 10am raid.

The raid was made following a tip-off.

“Our men waited for two hours before they made the raid,” he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 135 (1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967 for possession of goods not approved by the department.
