BINTANGOR: Residents in Meradong having problems with getting their identity documents should approach the Meradong District Office for assistance.

Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said there is a special task force (STF) that is always ready to assist in handling identity document issues.

“STF will also open a counter at the office for any inquiries regarding citizenship issues,” he said.

He said it important for Malaysians to be registered as citizens to prevent them from being left out when receiving assistance or other benefits.

“Meanwhile, a total of 112 applicants have been registered in district.

“This registration process is easier as the community leaders and village chiefs can verify whether the individuals are Sarawakians or otherwise,” added Ding.
