KAPIT: A civil servant and a foreign woman were among 15 individuals arrested following a raid in Kapit Market and Kampung Cina last Friday for possession and testing positive of drugs.
Kapit OCPD Dept Supt Freddy Bian Stanislaus Bian said all the suspects — between the ages of 24 and 47— were detained by a police team from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) led by Insp Thomas Untol in the operation that took place from 3pm to 8pm.
“Investigation found that those detained include a civil servant and an Indonesian woman age 47 and 37 respectively,” he said when contacted on Saturday.
Also seized during the raid were drugs suspected to be syabu (methamphetamine) weighing 16.07g and cannabis weighing 0.41g.
“All those arrested tested positive for drugs and are being detained at the police station for further investigation,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 39 A (1), Section 12 (2), Section 6 (1) and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
