KUCHING: A civil servant was charged in the Sessions Court here today, with sexual assault against his eight year old stepdaughter.
The 47-year-old accused pledged not guilty to all three charges under Section 14 (d) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017 carries a punishment of a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping.
Sessions Court Judge Afidah Abdul Rahman has fixed November 14 for case management and ordered the accused to be further remanded.
According to the fact sheet, he allegedly sexually assaulted the child at Kampung Nyabut Trombol, Matang at from January to October 6, this year.
