KUCHING: Sarawak’s civil servants who are involved in any sporting events in the country are ambassadors for the state.
State Secretary Datuk Jaul Samion said they need to continue to showcase the outstanding image of civil servants in line with the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) 10-20 Action Plan as world class civil servants.
“When participating in Sukan Perpustakaan Awam Se-Malaysia (SPASM) later, you are not only
representing the Sarawak State Library but actually representing Sarawak.
“So, it is important for us to show our image as Sarawak civil servants who have high values and discipline. I wish the Sarawak delegation all the best — to bring home another victory,” he added after receiving a courtesy call from Sarawak State Library chief executive officer Dr Rashidah Bolhassan at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, here, yesterday.
The Sarawak State Library will be participating in SPASM which is a national sports championship between all state public libraries in Malaysia.
As many as 64 state athletes will be competing in the events such as futsal, netball, sepak takraw, badminton, ping pong, carrom, darts, bowling and traditional games. The Sarawak contingent have been champions in the event in 2005 in Sabah and in 2015 in Sarawak as the host.
This year, Kedah will host the 23rd SPASM which will be held on Oct 20 to 24.
