KUCHING: A completed RM200,000 building extension project for the Kota Padawan Maternal and Child Health Clinic in Mile 10 here was approved under the N13 Batu Kitang constituency Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) fund.

The handover ceremony of the completed RTP project was held yesterday, with Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) as the implementation agency.

The building extension included a spacious new waiting area, three consultation rooms, a medicine storage room, and a meeting room.

Batu Kitang assemblyman and MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang when contacted said the health clinic had been in existence for more than 27 years.

“They are serving mothers and newly born children in the vicinity of the area faithfully.

“There are two doctors and more than 15 nurses presently serving a population of about 30,000 annually who frequent the health clinic,” he noted.

Also present during the ceremony was MPP deputy chairman Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim and Kota Padawan resident councillor Shirley Pui.
