MUKAH: Fire victims of Rumah Tingang Ajang in Sungai Sebakong here yesterday received assistance in the form of clothes from the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Sau.
A total of 36 victims represented by Tuai Rumah Tingang Anjang received the assistance handed over by Kampung Sau JKKK chairman Mazlan Abdullah.
Also present to witness the handover was Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kampung Sau Youth chief, Kenek Neng.
The residents of the five-door longhouse (which was razed to the ground about 11.30pm on Saturday) also received donated essential items given a day earlier by Mukah Member of Parliament Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib.
Hanifah when contacted expressed sympathy for the longhouse residents and advised them to keep their home safe and to be careful when using electrical goods in future.
She also reminded people to take care of their health during the current hazy weather.
