KUCHING: Members of the Kuching Ho Soon Physical Culture Club here have been known to be vociferous when it comes to displaying their love for and loyalty to Sarawak and the country.

This year was no exception when the members, led by chairman Then Shui Ted, joined thousands of Sarawakians in celebrating Sarawak Day.

The club had its own celebration at Kuching Sentral last Monday, which included a flag-raising ceremony and display of the national flag on vehicles.

Then said the celebration created awareness of the importance of Sarawak Day among members and the people in general.

“Through this celebration of the auspicious day, we are aware of the state’s history, thus evoking the people of Sarawak’s enthusiasm towards defending our rights and autonomy.

“It’s a great honour for us and I call on everyone to uphold the spirit of ‘I love Sarawak’ and ensure the continued prosperity and growth of our state,” he said.
