MUKAH: Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants should be used for the implementation of activities in clubs or associations in the best way possible.
Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine said the MRP grant is an important financial aid to any clubs and associations.
“This is because, without this provision, it is quite difficult for clubs or associations to carry out their activities.
“Therefore, I hope that with this grant, it will be utilised as best as possible,” he added.
He relayed this during the MRP Grant Presentation Ceremony, where he presented a total of RM170,000 MRP grants to 22 recipients in the Tellian constituency.
Earlier in the ceremony, Royston also advised the recipient to send the expenditure implementation report as it was important for auditing of the system.
Rosyton also recommended that clubs and associations may apply for sponsorship from large companies that are operating at the area, by requesting assistance from the elected representatives in the constituency.
He said this would help clubs or associations to organise more programmes that involves the local community. Also present was Mukah acting district officer Peleadzman Ahip.
