CM approves RM1 mln for SCCCI innovation hub

SIBU: The state government has allocated RM1 million for the Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) innovation hub.

This was announced by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg at a dinner with the Chinese community here on Wednesday. 

According to Johari, the innovation hub is very important for the Chinese chamber of commerce because they want to train business people with technology. 

“They want to train businessmen using new technology. And they want to set up an entrepreneur hub.”

“So tonight… because it very important for business, I give them RM1 million to set up an innovation hub,” he said. 

Apart from that, Johari also approved the upgrading of roads in the six congested areas which will be implemented soon.

The six congested areas are Wawasan Road-Teng Chin Hua Road (UCTS) areas, Deshon Road -Teng Chin Hua Road-Brooke Drive, Deshon Road-Ling Kai Cheng Road, Ulu Sungai Merah Road and Sungai Teku Road.

He also announced an allocation of RM3 million for the upgrading of Rejang Park Central Sewage System, RM3 million for the upgrading and repair of Sibu Central, RM1c million for a new building block of SJK (C) Kiew Nang and RM1 million for repairing the Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce building.

Chief Minister’s wife Datin Patinggi Dato Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang, Minister of International Trade and E-Commerce Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, Assistant Minister of Education and Technological Research Dr Annuar Rapaee, BN candidate for P211 Lanang, Kelvin Kong Sien Chiu and BN candidate for P212 Sibu, Dato Andrew Wong Kee Yew were among those present.
