KUCHING: 85 children from Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah Children’s Home were given the opportunity to have a splendid breaking of fast dinner by Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Tuesday here.
Present at the function were Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg, his wife Datin Patinggi Dato Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and wife Datin Zuraini Abdul Jabbar.
The breaking of fast was preceded by Maghrib prayers followed by dinner and presentation of ‘Duit Raya’ to all the children.
The children were able to enjoy over 100 variety of cakes and food prepared by BCCK.
During the fasting month, reaching out to the under-privileged society has been an annual activity close to the hearts of BCCK’s board of directors, senior management and staff.
The function was not just a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, but also to spend quality time and bring smiles to the children.
Also present were the Chief Executive Officer of BCCK, Eric Van Piggelen, Director of BCCK, Steve Ng and Principal of Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah Children’s Home, Nor Armizi Ariffin.
