CM presents medals to 396 civil servants

SIBU: A total of 396 civil servants received loyalty service medals from Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg here on Monday.

The presentation of the loyalty service medals was held at RH Hotel.

The recipients were from 15 departments and agencies under state government (nine) and federal government (six).

Leading the list of medal recipients were Sibu Resident, Hii Chang Kee, who has served with loyalty and dedication for 26 years.

Others who received loyal service medals included Kapit Resident Joseph Belayong Punan who has served for 31 years; director of Land and Survey Department Zaidi Mahdi (28 years of service); general manager of Sibu Water Board Sudin Jaya (30 years of service); and former director of Road Transport Department Dato’ Ibrahim Othman (36 years of service).

Meanwhile, Rosidah Ahmad from the Sibu Resident’s Office received a medal for 43 years of service, while Lau Suk Huong from Land and Survey Department was awarded for 40 years of service.

Medal recipients for serving for 40 years or more were Road Transport Department staff Joseph Jimbun Masing, Mohamad Dahlan Sahari, and Teh Thian Chai while recipients from Health Department who served for 40 years or more were Rosita Dayang Tigong, Justine Joe Lukut @ Jan Lukut, Joseph Ingas Bar, Pauline Jantang Ujang and Usan Nyegang.

Other departments and agencies represented included Sibu Resident’s Office and Sibu District Office, Kapit Resident’s Office, Kapit District Office, State Land and Survey Department, Sarawak Public Works Department, Sarawak Forestry Department, Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department, Sarikei Resident’s Office, Sarikei District Office, Kapit District Council, Sibu Water Board, Sarawak Accounts Department of Malaysia, State Road Transport Department, Sarawak Fisheries Department, Malaysian Royal Police, Sarawak Health Department and Sarawak Education Department.

Among those present at the event were deputy state secretary (Rural Transformation) Datu Jaul Samion, chairman of State Public Service Commission Dato Abd Ghafur Sharif, and director of State Human Resource Unit William Patrick Nyigor.
