KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg received three courtesy calls at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday morning.
The first visit was a delegation from Sinohydro Corporation led by its Vice Executive President, Ji Xiaoyong.
The aim of the visit was to inform the Chief Minister on the progress and development of the company’s Combined Cycle Power Plant at Tanjung Kidurong as well as its Hydro Power Plant Package Diversion Tunnel at Baleh.
Sinohydro also discussed with the Chief Minister on the job opportunities, industrial skills training and the company’s social responsibilities towards the State.
Ji was accompanied by Sinohydro Asia Pacific Vice President, Ye Haoliang and General Manager, Liang Yufei.
The second visit was a delegation from CIMB Bank led by its Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz.
The main purpose of the visit was to foster closer co-operation between CIMB and the Sarawak Government in relation to the state’s economic development.
Among the CIMB delegates were Head of the bank’s Corporate and Banking, Lo Nyen Khing and Managing Director, Zainul Hashim.
Abang Johari also received a call from the Sarawak Regional Director of the Foreign Ministry, Gloria Tiwet.
It was Gloria’s last official visit to the Chief Minister’s Office before she ended her appointment in Sarawak.
