KUCHING: Yesterday was another busy day for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in his office at the DUN complex in Petra Jaya.
There were six groups of visitors calling on him from morning until afternoon.
First to call was Major General Toh Choon Siang who is the new Commander of 1st Division Malaysian Infantry from the Muara Tuang Camp.
Major General Toh took over from Lieutenant General Datuk Stephen Mundaw who has been promoted to Commander of the Eastern Field Command, also based in the Muara Tuang Camp.
This was followed by a similar call by Maritime Captain Robert Teh Geok Chuan, the newly-appointed Director of the Maritime Enforcement Agency Malaysia in Sarawak.
After lunch break, the Chief Minister received guests from the Federal Land Development Board (FELDA) before entertaining guests from Persatuan Kemajuan Melayu Saribas.
The last group to call on the Chief Minister was a delegation from the Sarawak Ship for South East Asia and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) Alumni (SSA).
The purpose of the visit was to brief the Chief Minister on the activities of SSEAYP and the possibility of Kuching as a port of call next year.
This morning the Chief Minister also chaired the 36th Board Meeting of Natural Resource and Environment Board (NREB).
He wrapped up the day by presenting a cheque for RM400,000 to the committee of Darul Ihsan Mosque Muda Hashim, Kuching.
