KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call by a delegation from the Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Children’s Development led by its minister, Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah in his office at the State Legislative Assembly Building here, yesterday morning.
During the visit Fatimah briefed the Chief Minister on the preparation to distribute assortment of Hari Raya cakes to security forces and thousands of other agencies’ personnel who will not be returning home to celebrate Hari Raya with their families due to the call of duty.
The Ministry has prepared 8,000 packets of traditional cakes that will be distributed to security personnel serving in various parts of the state in recognition of their sacrifices and services to the nation during the festive season.
Members of the delegation included Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Children’s Development, Rosey binti Haji Yunus and Director of Sarawak Women’s and Family Department, Puan Noriah Ahmad.
The Chief Minister also received a courtesy call from the chairlady of Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Datuk Hajjah Raziah binti Mahmud who was accompanied by CEO of BCCK, Eric Van Piggelen.
