KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to launch the Sarawak Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 on Sarawak Day this Thursday (July 22).
According to information shared by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) on Monday (July 19), Abang Johari will also be delivering a special message that day.
The event, which is expected to begin at 10am, will be live streamed on Ukas’ social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
On the same day, the state government will also be organising a small-scale one-day event at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex from 8.30pm in conjunction with Sarawak Day, strictly limited to 100 attendees.
The celebration, themed ‘Sarawak Gemilang Untuk Semua’, is to acknowledge the sacrifices made by frontliners and to celebrate the fighting spirit of Sarawak in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The celebration will be a mixture of digital and live performances to be broadcast at 8.15pm on TVS. It will also be streamed live on Ukas’ Facebook page, YouTube channel and RTM Radio FM.
Other activities include a contemporary dance performance ‘Sarawak Bahagia’, a presentation of the ‘Aspirasi Sarawakku Sayang’ video, a short film entitled ‘I am Sarawak’, and a documentary video ‘The Struggle’.
Guests of honour expecting to attend the event are Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Abang Johari and his wife Datuk Amar Hajah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Sarawak Cabinet ministers as well as frontliners.
