KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg who is also Finance and Economic Planning Minister will table the Supply (2021) Bill, at the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) meeting tomorrow (Nov 9).
Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar said the state budget would be debated by members of the House on November 11 and 12.
The Supply Bill will be among five government Bills to be tabled during the five-day session of the assembly which will sit under a new norm following a spike in Covid-19 cases in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas will table a Temporary Measures for Reducing the Impact of Coronavirus Disease, 2019 (Covid-19) Bill, 2020. Uggah is chairman of the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
The other Bills to be tabled in the DUN Sitting are Supplementary Supply (2020) Bill; Local Authorities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the Constitution of the State of Sarawak (Amendment) Bill, 2020.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Karim Rahman Hamzah will table the Constitution of the State of Sarawak (Amendment) Bill, 2020 today (Monday) with its second and third readings slated for Nov 10.
Asfia revealed that winding-up speeches will be delivered by the three deputy chief ministers — Uggah, Tan Sri James Jemut Masing and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan on Friday morning while the chief minister will wind-up the assembly in the afternoon.
