KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to visit Simunjan and Gedong for his official working visit on Wednesday (March 10).
Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported that the chief minister was also expected to officiate at the Jiwa Murni Project in conjunction with the 88th Malaysia Army Day at the Gedong Community Hall, and visit the Army Exhibition at Dataran Gedong.
On that day, Abang Johari will attend a briefing on development projects by the Samarahan Division Implementing Agency at Anjung Rehat Simunjan before looking at the Simunjan riverbank erosion area.
He is then expected to officiate at the launch of Rumah Rehat Sri Simunjan and launch the Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (SRBN).
The programme working committee has made preparations and rehearsals for Abang Johari’s visit to Simunjan and Gedong. Among those present during the rehearsal last Sunday were Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industry Terminal & Entrepreneur Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris, Deputy State Secretary Datuk Seri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, East Field Command chief Lt-Gen Datuk Mardzuki Muhammad, Samarahan Resident Brahim Lumpu, and Simunjan District Officer Abdul Khalid Manap.
