KUCHING: Datuk Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, wife of the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg presented assistance to five recipients yesterday.
The five recipients who received daily necessities such as rice, cooking oil, milk, dried shrimps and anchovies were from five different constituencies namely, Demak Laut, Pantai Damai, Tupong, Semariang and Satok.
The presentation ceremony was held at Pusat Kebajikan Datuk Amar Hajah Juma’ani here.
Organised in conjunction with the coming month of Ramadan, the presentation of assistance was aimed at lightening the burden of the needy families and assist them to fast.
At a press conference after the event, Juma’ani, who is also chairman of Petra Jaya Welfare Association (PKPJ) and president of Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati), wished that PKPJ would receive a lot more assistance for contributions to the needy.
“Despite my busy schedule in the coming fasting month, I will find time to bring the special children to shop for their Hari Raya needs at Mydin Hypermart as well as to hold small activities such as breaking of fast together and terawih prayer,” she said.
Also present were Pemanca Rosli Sahari, PKPJ vice-chairman Dr Ismail Drahman, PKPJ deputy chairman and Community Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) Sri Satok chairman Datuk Dr Munirah Hassan, PKPJ exco Abdul Rahman Adenan and PKPJ exco Dr Haizul Amri.
