KUCHING: A dramatic evening at Sarawak State Stadium saw Kuching City FC secure a hard-fought 3-1 victory over KL City FC, demonstrating resilience and character.

Head coach Aidil Sharin commended his players for their unwavering determination, which he witnessed firsthand during the tense closing stages with only nine players on the field in the final minutes.

“I told them this is a test, a chance to show good character. We are one, united; it doesn’t matter if we have 9, 10, or 11 players.

“The most important thing is to stick together. I think the boys achieved that and did a great job tonight,” he said when met at the sidelines after the match last night (Oct 27).

Aidil credited his players for their excellent team performance.

“First of all, alhamdulillah I have to give credit to all my players, especially those who worked hard throughout the 90 minutes.

“It’s not easy. We know KL is a strong team and had good momentum coming into this match, having been on a winning streak. To win 3-1 while playing with nine men is no small feat,” he said.

Kuching displayed exciting football, creating several moments that left fans in awe.
