SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) coach K. Devan is satisfied with their 1-1 draw against Sabah FC here on Monday night although he feels they could have done better, especially in attack.
He praised his team for their commitment and stout defending throughout the match.
“I’m satisfied with one point although we hoped for three. We played well and both teams had their fair share of chances.
Maybe we gave them too much space and our attack was not up to expectation,” he told reporters after the match.
NSFC are lying ninth in the Super League table with nine points after seven matches while Sabah are fifth with 14 points from eight matches.
Devan said he planned to fully use the team’s import quota to strengthen the squad.
“However, this depends on the management’s decision and the club’s financial position,” he added.
Sabah FC chief coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee admitted that it was not an easy match against a defensive NSFC.
“Overall, we were good enough for three points but it was not easy as both teams adopted the same style. We knew we would be in trouble if we conceded goals.
“But due to the determination of the players, we managed to get a valuable point,” he added. – BERNAMA
