KUCHING: Oppstar Berhad is prepared to collaborate on Integrated Circuit (IC) design production in Sarawak, said its chief executive officer (CEO), Cheah Hun Wah.
He said the IC design plays a crucial role in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the development of data centres.
“Recently we have seen a lot of expansion in deep technology where everybody talks about artificial intelligence.
“We see that the IC design is actually the essential part of it and that’s where we actually create the holism,” he said.
He said this when met by reporters after a meeting with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya on Thursday.
He also said that the company aims to expand its workforce from the current 300 to 500 employees to create product actualisation.
