LAWAS: Development agencies and bodies should collaborate in order to increase efficiency and reduce cost in project implementation, urged Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He encouraged the Sarawak Land and Survey Department (JTS) to implement a blockchain approach in order to deliver more effective service to the people.
“Blockchain is basically a logarithm – the transaction of data with an efficient system.
“In other words, collaborate with other agencies, and other agencies must also respond,” he said when officiating at JTS’ Innovation and Integrity Day 2020 at Hotel Seri Malaysia here today.
He said the same went for other development bodies such as the Regional Corridor Development Authority, Bintulu Development Authority, and so on.
He added that other agencies must have the same approach as JTS.
“Last year, I communicated to the Public Works Department to have their own chain like JTS. I said to learn with JTS.
“If both agencies collaborate, this would facilitate works and they would be able to implement projects efficiently and with less cost.”
At the same time, he commended JTS’ efforts and collaboration with the Dayak Bidayuh National Association with regard to the survey of native customary rights land.
Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang, Sarawak JTS director Abdullah Julaihi and other representatives.
