SIBU: Deputy chairman of Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) Wong Chin Yong managed to collect RM1,130 for Citizen Middle School at Grand Heights Market on Sunday (Nov 8).

Wong, who is also Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Dudong branch chairman, said the money was donated by the traders and Sunday shoppers of all races.

He explained that the donation campaign aimed to raise funds to rebuild the hostel of the school which was destroyed by a fire recently.

The Grand Heights Market has 51 stalls. The campaign started at 7.30am and ended at 8.15am.  

“I will continue the donation campaign for Citizen Middle School at Farley Commercial Centre and Sing Kwong Shopping Mall next Sunday (Nov 15),” said Wong.
