KUCHING: Collaboration between Kuching Community College (as an educational institution) and industry players is seen as an opportunity to brainstorm and improve the learning and teaching aspects.

This was said by Sarawak Administrative Officer (SAO) from Kuching District Office Suraijah Zainol when officiating at the Architecture Portfolio Day organised by the Architectural Technology Unit of Kuching Community College on Wednesday.

“The involvement of industry players in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in educational institutions is making the skills programme offered relevant to the industry needs.

“The ongoing strategic relationship between the college and the industry is also very important in ensuring that the learning curriculum is always in line with the needs of the job market,” Suraijah pointed out.

Meanwhile, Kuching Community College director Fadil Aziz stated, “This year, the college is working to strengthen collaboration with academic and industry panels and to seek new collaborators.

“The bilateral collaboration between college and industry is in line with the fifth core of the Kuching Community College Action Plan for the year 2019-2020 that reinforces industry and community collaboration.”
